After coming off to a great start in the CEVO Placement Tournament yesterday, the United 5 Counter-Strike: Source division will face off against FSX tomorrow. They will be facing FSX on de_train, a map that we had some trouble with in the past. If you recall our nail biting match versus Carolina Core at the Newegg Lanfest, the United 5 unit ended up going into double overtime.
With some more practice and experience under their belt, the match should be a great one to watch. Look for some very strong teamwork on the Terrorist side and some great transition on the Counter-Terrorist side.
The match is schedule to be played at 6:30 pm PST, but has not been official confirmed.

So the cat is out of the bag! I was hoping we would be able to sneak by the qualifier without being noticed and surprise our fans today, but Gotfrag’s dedicated coverage, did not allow that.
Though the last year and a half has been dedicated to Source, the United 5 Counter-Strike division has been dabbling in some 1.6 as of late. I want to state that this is not a permanent switch over, but an opportunity to be present at the Intel Extreme Masters Championship. Many of you have seen the guys in action over the last 24 hours and noticed we have brought on Jordan “n0thing” Gilbert as a fill-in for Albert “hahN” Hahn for this event. Due to school and personal obligations, the short amount of time between Newegg Lanfest and the Intel Extreme Masters, Albert was unable to prepare and be present for this event on such short notice.
I know many are very excited that the guys have switched back over to 1.6 and hope that they continue to stay in 1.6, but as of right now, we are not committing to just 1.6. With CPL around the corner, the idea of Source or 1.6 is still up in the air. Though the unit has not had a tremendous amount of practice with this line-up and in 1.6, I hope their raw talent and immense amount of experience, allows success!
Having been placed in Group D with Mibr and eMg, the United 5 unit will have a hard fought battle ahead of them today!

Tonight United 5 will be taking on Disrupt for their first match at the 2007 Newegg.com Lanfest tournament. Soon after that, they will be going up against simpLify. For their final match of the group, United 5 will face off against Carolina Core. Now for those who aren’t familiar with the rule set, its 16,000 dollars start money along with max rounds set at 12. The rounds are also 1:20 seconds long. The maps for the event will be selected from a pool of dust2, de_nuke, de_train, or de_inferno. Remember this is group play and only 1 team from each group will advance so every round counts. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show as United 5 enters their first match in over a month and as always; make sure you check back for updates.

United 5 > simpLify (22-2)
United 5 = Carolina Core (12-12)
After a nail biter with Carolina Core, u5 will take them on again in a tie breaker match. Since this is over time, start money will be 10k. |

Silence has been common on our front these days, today it's over; today it ends. With the decision to drop our participation in Cyber Evolution (CEVO), back in August, many thought United 5 Gaming brand was perhaps, finally, going to the grave. We're afraid not.
United 5 Gaming is back!
The United 5 Counter-Strike: Source squad will be traveling to Ontario, California, to attend the 2007 Newegg.com Lanfest tournament. With such notable teams such as team 3D, compLexity, Pandemic and Turmoil, it should certainly be a great competitive weekend. Representing United 5 Gaming will be the following players:

There has been a tremendous amount of talk within the community about the recent Team Fortress 2 Beta. As of late, it is safe to say that I have played the game in excess. In excess so much that I am starting to fall a bit behind in my priority work. Now this is not to say that it is a bad thing; however, I have begun to feel that indescribable feeling attained from being invoked by a fun game. These feelings and tendencies are similar to when I first began playing Counter-Strike: 1.6. Damn you Valve!
Though this game was projected to be released many moons ago, the wait on releasing a working product was well planned in my opinion. If you have had the opportunity to play TF2, you can attest to the well formulate game physics and overall game play. To be honest, the game incorporates many elements of many games, which I feel attracts a very large market of gamers. What do I mean by many different elements and games? Let’s see what would be the best, simple analogy to describe the game… |

With our new site in the works, United 5 Gaming is looking for a new media designer! This position will focus on banners for posts, u5 media images, and clip of the weeks/movies. Though it is not a requirement to be skilled in the art of movie making; having that talent will give you an extra edge over the competition!

| United 5 Counter-Strike Active Again & New Site in the Works! |

This year has been a long, tough struggle for the United 5 Counter-Strike Division. Their transition from Counter-Strike: 1.6 to Counter-Strike: Source was not an easy task, but the unit did it very well. After having practiced four to eight hours a day, four to five days a week, over many months in perfecting their game; the guys created a strong name from themselves within the Source community. Despite a great showing at the combine and other CGS events, all the hard work seemed to be futile. As many know the unit was not picked up as a franchise team, after having proven their strong abilities over many of the other teams who competed to be a franchise Source squads and from those that eventually became franchise Source teams.
Having not been chosen after putting that much hard work, time, and the sacrificing of many personal things, the squad was on the brink of quitting due to bias decisions made during the draft. Whatever the case may be, the squad took a much need month off to re-evaluate their careers....

Tonight the United 5 unit engages in a double header! Having had to reschedule our second match of the season versus Turmoil, the day has come where that match will be played. Though this may be a good game, there may be some improvising. I say improvising because the unit has been practicing de_dust2 for this week and the Turmoil match is to be played on last week’s map; de_contra. Both teams will come out looking for a big win; however, before the United 5 unit can take on Turmoil, they face San Francisco Optx.
The Optx squad, currently (1-2) this season, is coming into this match with a big win over zEx. The United 5 unit needs to make sure they are on top of their game to solidify a W.

Tonight the United 5 unit faces off against Chicago Chimera in Week 2 of CEVO Pro. With only one loss due to a forfeit against coL, the unit was hoping to bounce back last Thursday against Turmoil. Unfortunately Turmoil was unable to field 5 players, thus resulting in a reschedule for next week. Reluctant to have a few extra days of practice before our next match, the unit has been practicing and looking forward to facing off against Chimera tonight. Though Chicago has started off to a slow start this season, with a (0-2) record; this team should not be taken lightly. Being the CGS Season 1 Champions, the United 5 unit must bring their a game.
